Recently attended a concert at this fabulous theater. Graduated in this venue many years ago. Beautiful!
Very nice theater a few blocks from the ferry. Definitely worth the trip if there's a she you want to see here.
Beautiful old theater. All seats are great. Adequate parking options nearby.
As many have already stated, this is a great old venue, that is ever evolving as the restoration process continues and improvements are made. Like any venue, some seats are good, some are bad and some are great. Depending on the importance of the show to you, that will "drive" your desire you spend $$$$ for better quality seats. Also, like any other venue, it's a "first-come, first-served" environment so if you want those coveted seats, you gotta be at your keyboard, logged-in and ready to go, when the tickets go on sale, for at least a "shot" at getting good seats, with NO guarantees you'll get what you want, if it is a really popular event. The only "downside" this writer has observed is "behind the scenes" where management subtly takes any type of negative comment or criticism or suggestion and develops an "attitude" with an almost "how dare you" or "anything else?" type of posture, rather than being professional and accepting your input and thanking you for it, whether or not they agree or ever intend to address it. Not sure if this is due to stress (on their part) or they just think they know it all and do not need any help or advice from the venue-going public. This is my OPINION, just putting it out there, for what it's worth.
Nice venue which had been recently refurbished. Seats are comfortable. There were metal detectors at the entrance but it moved quickly. Sound wasn't great, where it was sitting about 50 rows back underneath the balcony everything sounded sort of compressed -- I'd recommend sitting up front or on tje balcony, not below it.
They only complain I have is with the security. People get up from their seat and go to another also they Stand up blocking the people in the back seats. I observed a security guard looking and did nothing. Other than that the theatre is absolutely beautiful very clean and they bring a good quality of artists. I am very glad the theater is here .
The venue is great. The acoustics for a concert are awesome. We just saw a YES concert there. Parking available for $8.00 at the municipal parking facility. They offer bottled water, wine and beer to purchase. As well as popcorn and super pretzels. We had orchestra side seats. Great view! YES played for almost 3 hours!
I attended a recital for a local dance school. This performing arts theater is in Staten Island. It was opened in 1929 and the interior is very ornate. The seating was comfortable and acoustics good. The staff is courteous and friendly.
Great Shows for Everyone. Wonderful venue for Graduations. Awesome for the Ballet recitals. My all time favorite though will always be "The Christmas Show". Says it all about Staten Island, New York. π½ππΌππππ£π―πππ ππ¦πΌπ’βΊ
I have my first visit this spring of 2018 and it was the only reason I've given them just three stars. For a local theater it has won my heart over and it's a shame I couldn't give him them more than three stars because I would definitely come back time and time again. The theater itself in the conversational piece the decor that history there's so much to look at while you're there and then let's talk about the staff that runs the theater you're greeted with an approach with nothing but smiles. So back to just give them three stars is even though it's a local theater I just wish they would give more of a diverse profolio all performances throughout the year diverse to include the interest of different age groups and of course ethnicities. I like the theater so much after my first visit I even look for volunteer and possible employment opportunities for someone like myself who's retired. The theater made that much of an impression on me.
Great architectural work. Some great artist play here. In a lovely area.
A beautifully restored theater within walking distance of the Staten Island Ferry. They have something on their events listings for everyone! I went to see the 80's/90's Freestyle show (we had a blast) and found out that Joni Mitchell will be performing there in June!
Beautiful theater! We saw Home Free Vocal Group there. The show was fantastic, the staff were courteous and helpful. The group does a signing after the show if possible and the staff made that happen easily. Great place to take in some live theater!
I really enjoyed the venue, saw The Mavericks there. The band has a big sound and the theatre showcased them wonderfully. I'd go there again. Classic 20's theatre, it's a work in progress on the restoration but it in no way interferes with the enjoyment.
What can I say about how Spectacular this place is! This Theatre was renovated from head to toe! It's like walking into pure history! The shows are wonderful and the the amazing entertainers they've booked is pretty amazing! High end entertainment and great prices. I saw Carol Burnett, Donny Osmond, and Charlie Daniels. It's a great wonderful place! If you come to Staten Island come visit The St George Theatre
Beautiful theatre! Great place to see a concert. Not a bad seat in the theater.
Beautiful classic theater. The owners did some terrific renovations however a big money corporation should buy it and do it properly.
This place is steeped in History. Beautiful theater. The shows are all pretty good.
Loved it...its very clean polite people quick service...only thing its quite hectic when leaving after a show
I enjoyed the Christmas show very much. Alot of talented actirs and singers. Very clean, and friendly staff. Would definitely visit again and see more upcoming shows. Beautiful Historic architectural design and well preserved.
Place was awesome. Everyone was great. Santa abd mrs santa was great. Nutcracker they were beatiful
This is a legendary theater. It is such a wonderful treasure. Do yourself a favor a pick a show you can tolerate so you can see the theater.
Great sounds, beautiful theater. Just saw Leann Rimes, she was spectacular.
Beautiful old theater with very comfortable seats. Easy to get to by ferry. What I didn't like was the TSA like security check, wands over our body, all items out of our pockets. Wouldn't a bag check be sufficient?
Great venue. Beautifully restored, acoustics seemed great to me, easily accessible from the Staten Island Ferry. Not much to eat in the immediate area, make sure you dont arrive hungry.
Really cool place. Had my graduation here it was fun. Very fun. Good memories
Love this place. Went there as a kid. Beautiful acoustics. Beautiful renovation. Good shows, not a bad seat in the house. Parking lot in walking distance.
Beautiful theatre. Love the really old school look. Glad that they kept it all original. Latin freestyle show was great here as well.
The theatre is amazing!! It's like a walk back in time. The shows are awesome as well. The acoustics in this place are great and make for an even better performance. I would highly recommend coming for a show.
It's an old historic theater w/ lots of history. It's currently in the long process of being restored but concerts and shows go on all the time. Good quality productions and high end entertainment. Has a snack bar and wine/liquor are available too. Great for children and a nice night out for everyone.
Beautiful theater! Always very well organized and the staff is always so helpful. I look for shows to see here all the time. On my list of favorite things to do on Staten Island.
This place is amazing
